At the invitation of the organizers of United Ideas for Bulgaria, Elitsa Barakova and Pavel Panayotov took part in the consequitive lesson of the Social Entrepreneurship Course at the Faculty of Economic of the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. The topic of social enterprise's success has been examined through the two main features of the social enterprise: being economically viable and achieving its social mission.

The ideal social enterprise goes on plus every financial year, develops its products, monitors markets and expands them, meets new needs for its customers. At the same time, it shows its social success in the form of capable and motivated for independent living people, hired people, decent pay, saved carbon dioxide emissions or something else. And we closed again with financial performance and profitability - how much does our success stand against other opportunities to support the same goals.
We talked about success in ascending order: to do the work that depends on us; to be able to change things in the people we care about; to influence the behaviour of others on whom the better situation depends; to achieve total change and policies.

In the practical part, we discussed the case studies of participants in the challenge for starting entrepreneurs of Rinker's Challenge 1, 2 and 3, and in the meanwhile we ate half of the bread of Vancheto. “Bread for Life” is one of the winners of Rinker's Challenge #3.
For the success of our participation, we rely on students to understand better the notions of 'result' and 'effect', to be aware of the importance of monitoring activities and to be able to fairly and objectively review the state of their enterprise or organisation by using the proposed by Rinker Centre methodologies for (self-) assessment. We will observe the change and we will tell you!
