The donation campaign by #Forthegood Project and BCause Foundation is over.
The main campaign #Forthegood against COVID-19 in Bulgaria at platformata.bg gathered 334 836 leva from companies and private donors – a total of 1350 donors. The cause was joined by Chaos Group and their employees, who donated 223 560 leva. An attractive campaign by Aleks Melamed, who challenged his friends and thus managed to collect 7659 leva (and counting).
The total amount of donations to the #Forthegood campaign against COVID-19 in Bulgaria is 567 198 leva. Using this money we managed to support more than 100 hospitals throughout the country as well as several NGOs.
#Forthegood against COVID-19 in Bulgaria was the first nation-wide campaign that used combined efforts in facing the novel coronavirus. Its goal was to cover the urgent needs of the medics on the front line as well as the hospitals’ needs, until the state manages to take up control.
#Forthegood Project and BCause Foundation announced the campaign on 13 March, Friday. Along with the gathering of donations, additional medical equipment, ventilators, consumables, including such for further furnishing and equipment of the hospital wards, directly linked to the crisis, were immediately delivered to the hospitals throughout the country and Sofia. The campaign attracted dozens of volunteers from all over the country, who helped with information, efforts and transportation.
With the donated money we managed to buy 10 ventilators and paid for the repair of 1 more ventilator; 10 medical monitors; 5 infusion pumps; 1 electrocardiograph. We bought and sent out tens of thousands masks, gloves, overshoes, protective overalls, goggles, protective helmets. We will continue sending them out until we exhaust all ordered items.
We want to express our gratitude to the initiative group behind #Forthegood Project. We were part of an inspiring team of donors and volunteers, who managed to deliver extraordinary results.

BCause Foundation will continue accepting corporate donations, including such for the purchase of medical equipment. We will continue to provide our donors with information for those people and regions that are most in need. During the following months all organizations, providing help to poor people, organizing social kitchens, providing direct help, etc., will need the support of donors.
