Despite the epidemic situation, the programme for support of local communities in the tobacco-producing regions continues in a new way, adapted to the emergency situation.
BCause Foundation will organize the 6th edition of the social responsibility programme “Summer for Joy, Autumn for Care”, financed by Phillip Morris Bulgaria. Adapted to the restrictions of the epidemic, the tobacco regions development programme continues in 2020 in its full range. “Summer for Joy, Autumn for Care” aims to support tobacco-producing communities in four major directions: Training for teachers using alternative education methods, Academy for local entrepreneurs for starting local business and Care for the Elderly People. The activities take place in the regions of Blagoevgrad, Kardzhali, Silistra, Haskovo and Shumen.
The summer educational and adventure academy “Summer for Joy” for children in 21 towns and villages is adapted to the changes and current educational methods. The first part of the programme includes children from 1st to 6th grade in three age groups. The specifically created online platform www.zabavno.bcause.bg will give the mentors from NC “Future Now” the chance to virtually reach the children, the parents and the teachers in those remote regions. The interactive “Adventure Diary” will lead the kids through a series of educational games, creative tasks and challenges and will invoke their interest in various scientific and social subjects.
The mentors will initially meet the kids and present them with the diary in person so that they can be easily acquainted with the online platform together with their parents. Afterwards they will continue with the online trainings and distance learning.
The children will be able to share their achievements in designated Facebook groups and a general online “Heroes Assembly” will take place online on 14 August.
All other components of the programme are also being prepared. For a third year in a row teachers’ academies will be held, which will focus on innovative teaching methods.
“The Academy for Local Entrepreneurs” will have its 4th edition in 2020. The programme will support its previous participants in the challenging economic state, except for giving opportunities to new participants.
In order to reach elderly people in need, BCause Foundation will distribute anti-virus medicines and dietary supplements.
“Summer for Joy, Autumn for Care” has been taking place since 2015, organized by BCause Foundation, financed by Phillip Morris Bulgaria as part of the companies efforts for corporate social responsibility and its global strategy for sustainable development.
